Cool Offset Question!

hi i know offsets have been discussed before but i couldnt find it quickly enough so ya sorry about spamming/reposting
Question: I am deciding on 20x8.5 wheels but the ones i want only come in offsets of either 35 or 45. which one should i choose? would it make a difference if i want to lower my car as well? Pics are super helpful if you have either offset! Thanks!

any and all info you can handle about offsets here: member's wheel setups plus you can click on their names with CTRL to see pics of their setups. (click on suspension word file)

Lower the offset the more aggressive(sticking out) the wheels, 35 should be better imo, droppin make a difference of course as it tuck the wheels a bit allowing for a more aggressive offset if required.

Seems as if this guy has 20 x 8.5 35mm front as listed in the doc

enjoy.

stock off set is +35 all around. On my car i am running +27 and had to make the car fit the wheels.

^ Actually, i believe the stock offsets for the S are +45f/+50r

8.5" wide wheels at +35 is a nice conservative, yet positively noticeable, change.

With the minimal drop i have, i was happy with the +35's (albeit, in 19's). Not too tucked in to look odd, but not poking out either to where i had rubbing or clearance problems.

I would say if your going drop it run +35, but you may want to add 10mm spacers all around. Check out ChinkyChoy's ride he's +25 all around and it looks real nice.
