Cracks in knuckle?

Has anyone ever encountered this before? I just noticed this today, it seems to be mostly cosmetic but you never know.

I don't recall ever hitting any ridiculous bump on this side of the car, the passenger side (which i did hit a big bump, enough to bend my forged rim a while back) was fine.

I can't quite tell for sure from that pic, but my guess is that they're just casting marks Mike.

Some areas of the crack are somewhat raised (enough to scrape a few layers off my gloves), so you may be on to something there. I hope that's the case though, and nothing more serious.

Thanks!

A easy check may be to hit that area with a fine sandpaper and then quickly buff it. If the cracks are present once you've gotten down below the outer surface, then you've got something to be concerned about. Of course once you get a little patch of polished aluminum you're just gonna make the rest look bad

Almost every cast piece that I've come across on any car, mine included, that aren't visible normally, have those same casting marks. I have them on all my control arms as well, nothing to worry about, they're not cracks.
