Connecting Android phone to 2008 G35?
#17
There is no a2dp on 08-09 models. I stream audio through kinivo bluetooth adapter. You will need a 3.5 plug to rca adapter into the connections in the glovebox. It's all on Amazon for less than $40. The sound quality is better than the factory iphone cable and the phone calls come though the factory bluetooth. Everything is plug and play and is contained completely in the glovebox. You can't use the steering wheel controls for choosing music, but I use Siri to select music.

From a suggestion of another user on a different post, I bought the following. The sound quality is surprisingly good.. I haven't used the factory cable in a bit as I switched to Android, but I can't really tell the difference in sound. Plus, the convenience is awesome!
I use it on my 08 G with my Samsung Note Edge.

I am curious about this as well. I tried connecting my LG G4 to my 08 G35xS but the car would not detect the phone.
My other plan is to connect a chromecast to the auxiliary ports of the car so I can cast Google Maps for up to date GPS maps from my phone.
But I was hoping to get my phone to work with the built in car phone.

So far mine is only connected to my 30 pin cable although it takes time to power on but I am able to use it. I also read that some buy power converter in order for it to work.

I needed to buy this converter. It gives power to actual Bluetooth device. So from the 30 pin you plug in this adapter, in the adapter you will plug in a micro usb on the side for power, and then the blue tooth device plugs into the adapter. For whatever reason the car does not give the Bluetooth device enough power alone so that is what this does.

I'm using a QGeeM USB Type-C to HDMI adapter (from Amazon) and a WavLink HDMI to RCA adapter from the local electronics store with my Galaxy S8. Works decently well, I run the App that 909 runs on his tablet, it's called Car Launcher Agama. it allows me to run Pandora in the background and keep the "Home Screen". Only downside is I currently use a small USB mouse to control it, I need to figure out some sort of touchpad to use.
