odd

before taking it, I tried forcefully pushing it down while holding down the button and it would not budge at all

are the screws hard to get to? i'm having the same problem with my moon roof.. i haven't taken a hard look yet but i plan on doing so this week.. hopefully i can save a trip to the dealer

Not hard, used a flathead to pry the lights/sunroof control panel down in order to get to the screws. The headliner is easy to pull down as well. Just enough to get to the screws/sunroof motor

you are the man.. thank you! i was able to close my roof

you said there were 3 screws though? i was only able to find one on the right side of the motor and tightened it

Yeah, I shook/tapped the headliner and heard the other loose screw. 2 had come out but one was still in. If it's working, you might've only had that one come loose.
