I bought used with 2 bald(ish) tires, 2 new tires. New tires go in front or back?
I have to say that I have exactly the opposite experience. Could be that enjoy driving twisty roads from time to time, but it seems I've always had tread left on the rears when my fronts were looking desperate. Since I only buy them in full sets, it always gives me the green light to go ahead and smoke the rears (something I usually never do) until they're ready too.
I can concede to that...I guess it differs per driving habits. My fronts have always lasted far longer than the rears, but I must admit most of my spirited driving comes from hard acceleration, not from hard braking or sharp turns, and usually I prefer to load my rear tires in a turn with throttle rather than push into body roll.
