I normally use odor neutralizing spray from Yankee Candles (MidSummer's night) to keep my car smelling good, but the scent quickly fades. However, if I have to drive around briefly with closed contained food in my car (windows down) it smells for days

 

use california scents,or trees 1 every 2 weeks black ice smells good

 

Don't drive around with food in the car.

 

leave the food in the trunk!

 

^ + 1! make sure it is properly packed and dont have any liquid!

 

see if the filter is still good
and open the windows when having food !

 

Detailing your interior can do wonders too. Use a nice smelling leather conditioner/cleaner like Lexol or MGuiars.
I do my seats about every 3 months. People still say it smells (and looks) new when they get in.

 

Yeah, its the same with my car. If i leave it in for all day but take it out it just smells like that for a couple days. I tried putting that **** in the trunk but **** still stinks.

 

^^^ how are you packing your food? I leave food in my car all the time and don't smell like food at all.

 

For this very reason, I try not to carry food in my car. But when I must, I always open the window or put it in the trunk if possible.

Talking about car smell.. My car stil smells new after 3.5 years! I rarely open my windows... =)

 

Speaking of detailing... what do u guys use to treat or clean the leather seats and console???
