I like 9000 rpm. Advice on how best to protect engine as I rag the sh*t out of it? :)

I just bought my 08 base sedan last weekend. It's liquid platinum with the stone interior, and I just got tint today, and I am in love with the car. This is my first nice car. I'm 33 and I grew up driving a church van (I used to park away from my high school and walk out of shame), a buick skylark, oldsmobile cutlass cierra, pontiac 6500, dodge duster, chevette at one point, old model civic. Whatever my parents or myself could afford, basically, until it either broke down or I totaled it (4 of those cars totaled, I think. No casualties. Cheap cars are easy to total).

Anyway, I love the G to death. I feel like I've "made it" haha. I can't keep my foot off the pedal, though. I get like 14mpg. Please don't try to convince me not to. It will go away with time, I'm sure.

The problem is, I'm not car smart. Every time I see that needle get close to red, I feel like I'm breaking the motor. Am I? Is there anything I can do (or shell $$ out for) that will help me protect the motor as I'm ragging the engine to death? Seriously, I'm going to use the car up at this rate. Again, please don't talk me out of it at this point. I'm going to do it. I know myself, ha.

I'm hoping to get some oil brand or other oil type recommendations. Fuel additives, maybe. I don't know. Anything I can do to prolong the life of my car as I rag it?

Thanks for any advice.

Later!

Got to keep the motor stock. Due to the recent economic downturn and all.

dont red line it!!! Castrol edge full synthetic is good with high temperatures.
buy some cold air intakes so your engine breeds cold air. i think redline has some radiator additives to keep coolant cooler

These motors handle high revs quite well compared to many of its competition, as long as you keep up with your maintaince with syn oil you should be ok. however consider reducing the service intervals. Needless to say though consistent high rev would cause quicker wear and tear though...

EDIT: IF you plan to get a tuner to increase the redline do not go over 8k at any cost on stock block to avoid damage, i say this cause your 9k title scares me

Someone qualified to modify your cars performance via tune, motor work, suspension, etc.

Beat on a nice car!?

I wouldn't beat on it if I were you. Repairs are expansive on these cars. But if you have to (hey who wouldn't?!) keep up with maintenance. If you go Cold Air Intake and Catback exhaust, make sure you get a tune to keep your air fuel ratio optimal. A lean engine that gets beat on a lot is much more likely to not last very long. And make sure you check your transmission fluid more often as well if you are rough with the car. Just to keep in mind, a brand new VQ35 HR motor (which is what you have in your car) can cause up to 10k to repair. I think they cost 7k just for the engine and not including installation. If this is first nice car, protect well and baby it. This is not your beater civic toy anymore. . Welcome to G35 Driver!
