Backed into car ) :

What's up guys, I've had my sport sedan since early January, and last night, bumped into my friends grandmothers car. Unfortunately, she drove an old lug of steel, so it really left a decent sized indent in my rear left bumper. Luckily, her rear left light case was only broken, and minimal damage was done. The bumper seemed to overlap about an inch from where it meets the frame, but besides that, I took the blunt of the impact. It was dark, and the bushes on both sides of the driveway made it hard to see.

Hopefully we can work something out with her, but it looks like insurance will be getting involved regardless. I'm 19, insurance hike.... Car is under dads name.

Pics very soon ):

Like they say, an education is expensive.

Sorry

(btw, you're probably going to want to get that fixed properly, but you could do an awful lot to improve it by slowly heating the dent with a heatgun/hair dryer and popping it back out. Also, the seam along the rear quarter can be realigned as well, probably just clips that have been knocked out of position.)

Thanks guys, I may try to pop it out somewhat before getting it totally fixed since it'll be a few days before she's fixed. I'll might just give the hairdryer a go

And yes, a very good lesson to be learned. Not going to lie, the tint on my car made it very hard to see out as well. But for now, I'm going to stay positive, since what's done is done, and she'll be fixed and looking good in no time.

You may find that it looks so good after popping it out and reassembling the seam that you may question whether having it professionally done is necessary, but don't; the bumper cover should definitely be repainted (it's all cracked) if not replaced entirely. The body shop will know if it's reusable.

Sorry to hear that bro, but You might even take this opportunity to get a body kit or at least a different bumper cover?

Yeah, I definitely want the job to be top notch, no matter how good it looks after I pop it out. And wsolo, good idea! I will give a look around to different bumper kits. Do you have any links by any chance?

Just spoke to my friends grandma ahaha, she wasn't angry at all, and offered for me to just pay her cash to keep out insurance and to say someone did a hit and run on me, we'll see. I want to get this done right

Once I make the 300 mile drive back to Brooklyn, I will get one! haha I can then finally clean my car on my terms when I want, rather than go to a carwash and get dirty rags wiped all over my vehicle.
