Exclamation Key fob problems

So i did some searching and didn't see the problem that i was having with my key fob. So my battery in both remotes were dying so i got a new batterys and replaced them but now when i push the button on the door it doesn't make the beep sound when you know the doors locked. all it does is it flashes the lights. second if i lock the doors with the key fob the loud horn beep doesn't sound either so sometimes i don't even know if i locked my doors i just like hearing the sound to give me piece of mine has anyone had this problem before and what should i do to fix it.?

hold the lock and unlock keys down together for 3 seconds...it is an optional horn mute thing built in...will honk horn if done correctly

not sure why it would have done that after changuing the battery...?

"Recommended Battery: CR2032 or equivalent." <-- from the lengthy User's manual (page 361)

On the topic of key fobs, is there a way to have the car beep when locking w/key fob instead of sounding the horn?

^ the only factory options are the horn or no sound at all.
