7 months ago when I bought my 07 CPO, mine was exactly like that. I had that replaced, as well as the drivers side door pull under warranty. They had no issues replacing them BTW, the dealer that I bought from is not the dealer I got it relaced from. I purchased 12hrs from where I live, and had first service done in Atlanta, my closest Infiniti Dealer

I just called my dealer yesterday to replace my steering wheel for peeling and was informed that my warranty expired 10 days ago. I was like, what about my CPO, and well as my Elite warranty that I bought? They said that neither covers soft panels. Son of a beatch. It's my fault because I've been procrastinating. I'm still pissed though.

Hhaha after I wrote this, It was on my mind and had me pissed off so I call the dealer back and asked to speak with the Service Manager, I explained the situation to him about my warranty being expired 10 days ago, and also told him that I filled out the online service request to have this done twice in March/April. Got confirmation email saying someone will contact me and they never did. He said he would call me back. 7 Minutes later he called saying he had good news, in that it's a CPO plus I have the Elite warranty, he checked and steering wheel is replaceable under one of them.

He did mention normally soft panels are not covered under other warranty outside original factory warranty. He is ordering it and will call me with the appointment once it comes in. Happy ending for once from a dealer I've only been to 4 times since I bought my car. YAAY!!!

Mine had the same issue. I also have for crazing on the headlights (which were replaced under warranty) but when pointing to the problem with the dash, a service advisor at the dealership said that someone tried to open the dash and wouldn't honour it under warranty.... wtf? I'm not even going to bother...

I'm starting to think we're all getting a little carried away with our attention to detail. I've *never* met a group of people as **** as myself. I don't know that many people would really notice these little things, like the steering wheel scratches and all that.

>>> commence flaming.

After edit: I guess the good thing is that we're building a bank of information on these cars and can at least determine if what we're noticing is experienced by others.

I think you've got a point, but I can definitely say from what I've seen from pictures here and from my own car, that the symptoms (and owner's reactions to them) really vary from car to car.

My driver side interior door handle is so scratched up, you'd think I must be Edward Scissorhands or something, and yet my steering wheel barely shows a scuff mark...go figure!

I also saw here where some folks had pretty severe dash peeling going on and I thought, wow, I'm glad mine's not doing that....that was 6 months ago and NOW mine is definitely peeling. It's not subtle, it's a marked change and it's progressing fairly rapidly.

You can call it little things, however this is not my first G35. I had an 04 Sedan that I purchased brand new and kept for 4 1/2 yrs. Steering wheel wasn't chipping, door pull wasn't chipping, neither did the cluster guage trim start to separate. Little or not, it seems like Nissan is joining the trend of other manufacturers and starting to cut corners. There is no reason an 07/08 should have this issue when the problem didn't exist in previous models. Maybe they figured since they bumped up the HP they can cut corners in other areas. Well they are sadly mistaken because I "WILL" find everything wrong and have it fixed for free. I spent $26K for my car so, I will hold Nissan/Infiniti to the standard/image to claim to portray.

I had this problem on my 2007 G35x. I bought mine used (not CPO) and the dealer still replaced the cluster lid assembly under warranty last winter.
