My DS mode is going out

Was driving today in DS mode when I downshifted to a lower gear, car began to slow as normal. Then, it started to "speed up" a little. Looked at the dash and sure enough, the car switched back to D itself. Moving from D to DS did nothing. Shut the car off and tried again and it was fine for a minute or so then didn't work again.

****, gotta make another trip to the dealer.

bring it to dealership, your going to need a shifter assembly, eventually only D will work. Happened to me, its a known issue.

No. Before they fix it, your trans will only work in D, as DS will eventually stop working (as mine has just done)

I know it's a known issue, this was more of a rant thread as I have to drive to the dealership and waste a day off 

Mine does this every summer from June to August and then works perfectly fine from September to May of the following year LOL. I personally think that heat has something to do with it.

Is the solenoid a part of the shifter assembly?

I'd do it myself If I knew which part exactly is being replaced. It should be a direct swap, nothing major. The console is not difficult to open up either. Can someone give us part numbers?

Terry,

I believe it is a part of the shifter assembly...send me a PM if you would like me to scan in the service document.

Thanks,

Paul
