BC coils poor quality????

I just finally finished up installing the fronts and rear perch springs without a problem. I finally get to the rear adjustable struts and they are damaged. wtf
they were packaged pretty well with bubble tape. I m not sure if they were damaged at the factory.

I have to contact jwauto to see what to do. my car is in pieces and I need to get to work. I m not sure I will rust or if the gold ring will turn over the damaged portions.

I can't get a freaking break.
just unwrapped

close ups

only concern is the deep chips in the rings. I m not sure if the ring will slide over it smoothly or get stuck. my teins don't like to turn if I get sand between the rings and strut body. i m really bummed. I wanted to see what it would like with a drop yesterday.

I think the "R" stands for "rear", rather than left or right. i don't believe coilovers are made "side specfic".

Just screw the collar up and see if it gets stuck or not. If it does, return it. If not, you're GTG.

Are those pieces of metal burr in the threads or did the threads get dinged. Try cleaning up those threads before you turn the gold rings over them. Looks like it should be fine though.

The threads got dinged. I don't want them to say I screwed it up when I installed. I guess I can put them on bc they were untouched when I took pics

Just occurred to me, why does your set say 04+ G35AWD? Are you not a 2nd gen?

They're probably the same but just thought i'd point it out.
