Removing/Placing Rear Emblems?

Hey guys, I own a 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan. I was wondering what type of a job it was to remove the "G 35" on the back of the car and what it would require to put them back on if I wanted to.

Is it hard to remove/replace the rear emblems? Can you explain the process? Im really wondering if its something I could do on my own or if I should bring it into Infiniti.

Thanks everyone in advance!

Easy to remove, just use some fishing line and Goo Gone to remove the adhesive. I removed the I N F I N I T I so that it was much easier to wax. Don't know about reinstalling, may have to have the dealership do that.

It's just held on by some good double-stick foam tape. If you heat them with a hair dryer/heatgun you can soften it up a bit and use some waxed dental floss to cut/roll through it. It's not hard to reinstall, they usually have a template or something that comes with new letters so you can align them (or just eyeball it if you're good). The bigger concern in some instances is whether or not your paint underneath will look different when you expose it, since it hasn't weathered like the rest of the trunk.

I sprayed Bug and Tar remover, let it soak for 10 min then used a thin floss strip and worked my way around the back of the lettering and emblems and slowly stripped the glue off the back.

bro its super easy, i doubted it at first. Went to homedepot yesterday for something and i saw the bottle of goo gone laying around, went home and debadged the INFINITI. Use floss to take out the letters, let the goo gone sit there for a few mins and then wipe away.I LOVE the way it looks, so clean =] lol Do et! idk bout you guys but i left the Emblem and "G35S"

I left the emblem and G35S as well... very easy to do i just pulled the I N F I N I T I off with my fingernail lol .. then goo gone for like 30 mins .. i waxed the area multiple times to try to get the discoloration away. it helped alot but imma clay bar and polish it after I finish my suspension.

^+1 i used my fingernail too but i used 3M adhesive remover which is $hit, plus i got a little on my tail lights so now they look messed up as if i sanded them...do not use 3M! it took like an hour to get the stuff off! (i debadged everything except the Mt Fugi)

Hey, if you do a search you will find quite a few DIYs with pictures on this topic. All in all it's simple. Let your car sit out in the sun for awhile so that the adhesive warms up then use fishing line to separate the adhesive from the G35. Use goo gone repeatedly to dissolve the remaining adhesive left on your paint then clay, polish, and wax where the G35 used to be. It'll look like the letters were never even there.
