Are we positive that the lcd Display Units (OEM Part #s) differ in the Nav and Non Nav cars? Either my memory is failing me (quite likely) or I never knew but simply assumed they are different.
After a bit of searching on...
- Driver.com
- InfinitiPartsUSA and InfinitiPartsOnline
- looking through the entire AUDIO, VISUAL & NAVIGATION SYSTEM section (AV.PDF) of the 07 G35 Sedan manual
...I can only find references to one Display Unit (in the 'With Navi' section) and no specific part number(s).
Thanks

I am aware of this but is the 'Touch' a function of the firmware and/or the control head unit. In other words if it where connected to the Navi control head unit would the touch screen be enabled, so to speak?Originally Posted by BionicG35
The nav is a touch screen, the non-nav is not
I am looking for evidence that there are two completely different Display Units used in Navi and Non-Navi equipped cars? Part #, pics or harness port/pin connectors.

IIRC, the navi screen is higher resolution and uses component rgb inputs and the non-nav screen uses composite inputs. Hopefully someone else can chime in to confirm this.

I am researching this as well. I have a 2008 non-nav sedan. The shop manual says the display unit receives RGB, RGB area, and RGB synchronizing signal. I think it's an RGBHV signal similar to a computer VGA. I'm not sure though.

I forget the name of the other member who researched all this awhile back, but the navi lcd is completely different with different pinouts and inputs from the non-navi lcd screens.
