g to z?

I currently have a g35x sedan, but was thinking of selling it and getting a 370z (maybe even an 07 350z with the hr motor). I have the g on coils and like they way the car drives plus a couple of other tweaks, but it just seems too big for me sometimes. Plus, I wouldn't mind a third pedal. Modding would also be a lot more fun and easier as the awd is so restrictive to the mod market. I would need to pick up some blizzaks though for the winter. Anybody made this change and had any regrets?

Hm. Well, a g35x and a 6mt Z are two completely different types of vehicles that just happen to share a similar/same engine and chassis. You'll lose a lot of the "refinedness" your x has, that's for sure.

It's a matter of what you want out of a car, a straight up sports coupe that's not very practical or a near luxury sports sedan that has the practicality of four doors/more interior room, all weather driveability, etc.

Personally, if I had a z (which i do but an '86 n/a, not quite up to par with the current models lol) I would definitely want another car thats more of a daily driver type of car.

Not trying to talk you out of it though, if that's what you want i'm sure you'll enjoy it!

I have actually thought about doing the same thing and trading in my G but honestly the two cars are completely different and it really just depends on what you're looking for in a car. I had a G coupe for the longest time and sold it for an auto G35x sedan, I miss my coupe dearly I regret selling my 6spd rwd coupe!

If you lose the AWD you can get that third pedal on a G sedan I have kids so coupe == nogo fo rme. My sedan is definitely a chubby fella compared to other sports cars I've had but still I love it!

Get a 6MT G37 coupe. It's halfway between the Z and G sedan.

In the first place why you get a sedan!! But maybe you like coupes now! Love the G sedan, I don't see myself with a coupe! So, it's your choice because both cars have potential!

I think this question depends on what you want in a car.

If you want a car with luxury, has a more refined feel, and has a heck of a lot more room/ trunk space, then I'd stick with your G.

However, if you want a car with better stock vs stock handling, lighter weight, sportier, has a crap load of aftermarket mod support, and is a lot easier to increase HP compared to an X, go for the 370Z. I however, would avoid getting the VQ35HR 350Z because if you are planning to go TT or supercharge it, the supporting vendors are slim. I'd strongly lean towards the 370.
