question about taillight tint

Hi, I am planning on tinting my rear tail light... but every places i go to are saying that it's difficult job and they can't do it... so they advice me to go to local body shop and get it painted.

WHICH i don't want to do. is it that difficult to tint the tail light on 07 g35x?

No.. if a tint shop cant do that then they shouldnt be a tint shop. Sure they are difficult lights to do but not nearly impossible

Yup, do the overlays yourself. It's a tricky job but many of us did it with no problems at all.
Nice thing is I have the look and can still peel them off anytime I want if I decide to reverse the look.

I've used niteshade before on my old Jetta and I wouldn't recommend using it. It gave it a nice tint but was extremely difficult to get an even look between the two tail lights, or that could have been because my impatience, haha.

I've been wanting to do the same thing. For those who have done it...I've never tinted anything or installed vinyl, always taken my car to a reputable shop. How difficult is it to install the overlay? On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the hardest. Wondering if I should tackle this job myself...

I would say "10". I have some experience with window tint and clear bras but the bluebat rear tailight overlays were impossible! I used a heatgun and it would just not cover the curves and just started to deform. Problem is, you can't practice.

I vote for Nightshades. It is easy to use if you just take your time and follow the Youtube how2. I love the way mine turned out with 2 light coats. Definitely a couple of shades darker but not so dark that it couldn't be factory.

I gave up on the Bat Overlays! I messed them up!! So I went with Nite Shade, I am not planning to reverse anything so I am happy with it! I really don't think doing coats of Nite Shade is hard at all! Light shows pretty good!

Dam that looks sexy! That's exactly what I'm going for. Would you mind sharing with us on how you apply them?

Did you take the tail lights out?

salvador, you had any problems with the po po in your area? Heard if the taillights are too dark they can pull you over. Didn't know if three shades has caused you any problems.
