just use this site and you can find your state's laws. They also have some useful info on dyi tinting. http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/

Ohio Tint Law Enacted: 2004
HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN OHIO?

Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Ohio, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 5 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 50% of light in.
Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window Any darkness can be used.

thanks for the info everybody, i might do 50, but i do want it for the looks (so i wouldnt do 70%) as well as heat reduction...the one I found at that v-kool link is like 43% VLT and 65% heat reduction but might be a bit dark...

what about carbon tint...is that better than regular tint for reducing heat at all?

I just got my girlfriends SC430 done with SolarGuards nano tint all around the car. Got the windshield done too. In Nevada you simply fill out paperwork for a medical exemption for "migraines". It's not too dark and I really can't notice it until I put my sunglasses on, then I can see it barely. Verdict is still out on whether or not it is worth it but frankly if it really blocks the UV rays it says it does, that's a good thing.

are your state police strict on tint? If they are be prepared for some tickets/court

It seems like they would be as legal is what 70%

With my GP i had 13% on rear and 22% on two fronts..4 tickets in one year..but that god i only had to pay 1

It came out very nice.

12k bulbs helping? Lol, they're giving you less light output, not more.

I have my entire front window tinted with 70% clear ceramic tint, mainly for the heat reduction and uv protection

why even put 70% on it? doesnt help at all. but sorry what I meant was 12k is helping alot more then my stock bulbs were cause the alignment was off and has been for awhile now. So when I put these in I fixed it and it got way better then what it was with a bad alignment of the bulb
