hi i just wanted to see who has windshield tint and what % and brand they have? i am preparing to have this done, but i want to see what is the best type of tint to reflect off the surface from the outside, but still be able to see out fine at night?
this is illegal right?
Only some states restrict window tint, mine being one of them. Ohio allows it, but not on the front pass and drivers side. They claim it is for the safety of the LEO's. I purchased a car in texas and found the majority of the cars have tint on all windows, except the windshield fo course.
Yeah not a good idea...very illegal and if you were found to have it..BIG fine
Legal in PA is 70% on all windows..and they don't even allow extra visor tint on the windshield

I have a buddy who did it on his Ford Expedition. You want to go VERRYYYY light (no darker than 50% i believe). It will make a huge difference in the other windows also. My buddy likes it but its pretty gangsta and dangerous. BE SAFE!
If you want it because of the sun, i know they sell a film thats VERY light, that helps with the sun glare has little to none tint ...
now if you want it to just look darker ... that very illegal, i wouldnt do darker than 50% and to me thats too dark ...

I have 50% on mine along with 20% on my side windows and 15% on the rear. I like It, it makes the rest of the tint look more even, prevents sun glare and keeps my car cooler. In all of the times I have been pulled over for tint/ front plate/ exhaust/ tail light tint infractions they have never mentioned my windshield being tinted. But I think Im going with a cleaner look soon and taking all the tint off my car including the windshield.
Or if you want to pay the big buck, but i know they don't make it for our cars and i don't even know if they make them anymore. My friend has a Lexus ES300 ( I think it's that one) and she has the windshield that tints automaticly. I thought that was super cool.
have any of you guys ever thought of using clear tint maybe in the 70% range?
v-kool has a 70% one that suppose to reject 55% of heat which is pretty high compared to darker tint.
