Just the valve body upgrade, but my torque converter is getting very "soft" so it's time to upgrade the whole thing... hoping Sam will give me a deal. ;-)

How about you? Any other upgrades to your tranny other than the valve body upgrade?

Almost right. Car totaled but I did not buy it back. I managed to remove the BBK and wheels which I am in the process of selling. No serious offers for the full FI power train so I left it all intact for insurance sale.

Wow. That really sucks. Sorry to hear that, Terry. Sounds like a nasty accident. Hope everyone was ok. Just sent you a PM.

It's been a while since I've been on Driver, but I now have almost 30K miles on my GTM SC and everything has been running great. I actually just got me first CEL since the install, so I need to get out my code reader and find out what that is for, but everything is running perfect, so I don't think it's anything serious. I need to get the car into GTM sometime soon to have the Rotrex fluid changed out and talk to Sam about building up my tranny next.
I have since upgraded to the GTM 1.5 SC, and my car has been holding up fairly well. I had a small issue with my car not building boost, due to my bypass valve needing lubrication. The difference between the Stage 1 and 1.5 is very noticeable, and maintaining traction is a lot harder. My transmission is now built using Alto clutches and an upgraded higher stall torque converter. Overall I am now satisfied with how my car performs. Glad to hear your car is still running great! Keep us updated.

Sounds like you've got a great set-up there. I'm also considering the 1.5 SC upgrade kit and tranny mods. I'm assuming you are happy with the tranny mods as well. Are the shifts more decisive with the upgraded clutch packs and torque converter? Can you PM me a little more info about the work you had done, who did the work, and how much it cost?

Why are parting out your car? Are you moving on to another platform?

EEK. No! Say it isn't so.

I replaced an M3 with the G and have also owned a M Roadster and had nothing but problems with both of them. I also currenly have a 750i in my garage with the Engine apart due to a blown head gasket... BWM's are more trouble then they are worth IMO. If you do end up buying a used one then I would highly suggest gettting a BMW Certified car. My M3 was Certified (thank god I listened to everyone on the Bimmer forums) and that warranty saved me thousands on repairs. I bought the car with 18K miles on it and it was into the dealership for warranty almost every month I owned it... 16 times in 18 months. The dealership was great about everything and I ussually ended up with a 5 Series loaner car, but I finally ended up selling the car just for the fact I was tired of getting it worked on and not being able to actually drive it. LOL

Just as an FYI... My next car is probably going to be either an Audi S7 or RS7. VW Group has a far better reputation for reliability in their S/RS models the BMW with their M's.

Which M did you have, an E46 or an E9x? I was also thinking my next car would be an E46 M3 or an E90 M3. Sucks to hear you had so many issues with them.
