R1 Concepts premiums or Powerslot Cryos?

Guys,

Trying to decide between powerslot cryo-treated or R1concepts premiums for the front rotors. Can anyone comment about the relative durability (alloys) and heat transfer characteristics (venting, directional vanes, etc) of the two? A lot of people on here recommend the R1 premiums. I'll probably go D+S on the fronts unless you guys recommend just slotted (I've heard the drillholes can precipitate fractures under heavy spirited/track use??).

Plan on pairing these up with Hawk ceramics.

I put powerslot cryos + hawk ceramics on my rears when I bought the car in March (at 49,000) and also had the brake judder TSB done in the front. I've already burned through my front OE pads in 5000 miles of semi-spirited driving as a I live on top of a steep "hill" (2000ft drop every day to work). I'm happy so far with that combo although the rear powerslots had radial (vs. directional) vanes which seemed a little chintzy for that much money, but maybe the rears don't need it that bad.

Wow...that's some serious brake use. I would look at these guys if I were you:

www.brakeperformance.com

They have a premium dimple drilled and slotted that has lots of good reviews around the internet and gives you the look of drilled without the potential weaknesses.

Iv had R1 Premiums D/S for a long time now and have had no warping issues thank god that i had with stocks after only ~15k with some hard brake sessions, now im around 56ish. If you track a lot then id call R1 and they are very straight forward and ask em if they recommend drilled or not, iv had no cracks with a few hard braking sessions but i think it includes only one or maybe 2 track sessions over the years.

I just called R1 and talked to a very knowledgable guy there. He told me they have very similar rotors, although the powerslots for the 2007 G35X are made with a G4000 cast iron- tougher than the standard G3000 or G3500 iron that they use on their rotors.

Even though they can also cryo-treat their rotors for a very competitive price (would definitely save me some $$ over powerslots) I'm leaning towards powerslots for the longer life that that implies. I'd like them to last through as many pad changes as I can. Not to knock the R1s... all else being equal I think I'd still buy them.

Now if there was a cheaper way to get something as good or equal to powerslots I'd be interested. OTOH I just realized this is going to cost 1/2 as much as upgrading the fronts to Akebonos. Decisions, decisions..
