W T FFFFFFF | Faulty maintenance by Dealer

The picture says it all!!!!!!!!!!!

Went in for my 45k maintenance and the next day found all my oil on the parking garage lot!!

I'm not sure how much oil was in my car from my last drive before discovering this (maybe a 15 mile trip). Maybe 2 quartz left? Could there be possible engine damage?

I'm going over to the dealer soon, they should be liable for EVERYTHING! Does this have an legs to pursue legally??

I AM FURIOUS! RIGHT NOW!!

thats a ton of oil, document everything going on and take it back to them and set it straight with them and let us know what went on.

WOW thats a big "leak" seems like they didnt tighten the filter or the drain bolt properly... But since this happened the very next day after the service and you have this picture, id say you are well covered for any damages that might have taken place.

The thing is that when the car is running, all the oil is not resting in the oil pan and if thats what they forgot to tighten then i would assume there would be no serious damage and that the oil just spilled after it was gathered back into the pan after parking... or at least i hope thats what happened

In case there is any serious damage then i dont see the dealership being able to shake you off on this since this is clearly their fault and they should own up to any extensive repairs as well.

If they check everything out and rule out any engine damage then tell them youd like to get the car checked out by a reputable local shop and confirm their diagnosis for your piece of mind and if anything shows up just take the ticket back to the dealership to have everything taken care of, worst case scenario you need to get the corporate involved else a lawyer, that i doubt will be the need.

Agreed on the documentation part, but if it were me, I'd check the oil level on the dipstick and if it's significantly low (like not even on the stick), I'd call the dealership and INSIST they send a tow truck to tow it in for an inspection. I'd refuse to start the car for fear it may already have or cause more damage. Let them do the cleanup to your garage and everything. If they want to send a guy out to put oil in it and just drive it to the dealership, then fine, but I wouldn't touch it. The less you interfere with the present situation, the better off you are.

Wow I would have lost my mind. First I would have flipped because of the potential damage to my motor next is the clean up. That would have ruined my driveway.. Did the parking garage make you pay for cleanup? Usually they call in a hazmat crew to clean the mess up. Good luck with this. I wouldnt let this slide and push for life time on the motor

lol a nissan dealer did that once to a friends altima, they tried to tell him it was not their fault because the oil filter was faulty and they do not cover that under warranty (fault oil filters). He had to threaten to sue to get anything done, and after battle they 'fixed' it, he traded in the car somewhere else as he didn't trust their repair or the engine after that.

I'd have this towed on a flatbed immediately... don't even start the engine. Just looking at this pic pisses me off. Good luck!

Wow. Excellent example of why I do my own service work (yes, I realize that isn't feasible for everyone). Scary.

It's normal. It's a high performance car. Expect some oil leaking.

---------------

I wouldn't start the car. Have Infiniti tow the car back to the dealership.

Hopefully, the engine is still good. Most likely it is since it looks like most of the oil came out after you parked it.

Damn that sucks, definitely agree about the tow on the flatbed. I only take my cars to the dealer if it requires diagnostic equipment or a recall/tsb. It baffles the mind how even the simplest things can get f'd up by certified technicians
Good luck through this man
