Still real hard to take a pic. My interior is dark and my windows are tinted, so without a flash this is the best I can do. I have no complaints and the shiny doesn't bother me.

FWIW, I did the same job but used Duplicolor "bumper paint" which has a very slight texture, like the original and matches the factory color/sheet perfectly. It's also pretty resilient, vs. "normal" paints.

Nice write up!

Nice!! There is member here with Car color match Switch Panels! I would have gone this route if my warranty didn't cover this!

LOL, it doesn't look that bad. I had to tweak the colors in photoshop to get the door handles to show up. I did pick up some leather cleaner / protectant so it doesnt' get any worse

I haven't messed with my steering wheel yet, as there is only a small scratch. I would be more apt to leave it on and try to scrape it and then paint it with a fine brush. If you find an easy way to take it off, please post it on here. I am just afraid of the air bag going off as that isn't cheap

Don't mean to thread jack, but I painted the two front switch panels today, and now none of my window switches work! I checked all of the fuses, and they seemed to be ok. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Your switches shouldn't have been affected as you don't do anything to them.
I hope you unhooked the switches from the plastic panel and didn't physically unplug the switches. Please tell me the panels were empty when you painted it(like mine in the pictures in the first post).

Second thought, make sure your car is on when you try it.

Why would you paint them? It's gonna look like crap. If your not under warranty anymore just buy new ones 08+. They fixed the scratching problem.

RR, did you actually look at the pics? They look great. $15 to $20 worth of paint as opposed to $200 for each panel. Most of our cars 07' are out of warranty and about 1/2 of 08's are out of warranty(hence the thread --G35 Sedan V36 2007- 08)

so unless your buying... I am painting

I did unplug the switches from the panel. I'm pretty sure I plugged them back correctly. Don't they plug back in one way only? The rears don't work either, and I didn't paint those.
