High idle cold start up?

Cold startup (sitting overnight/more than 5-6 hours) the car starts no problem, but idles around 2K RPM for a good 15-20 second then slowly comes down...normal? No CEL.

Sorry if it's a repost.

Cool, never seen another car idle at 2K RPM's to warm up though, was curious if it was normal operation.

Yeah! Normal! I usually let it go down by itself until I start driving! But when i start driving right away it goes to normal idling!

^ yeah like everyone said its normal, best thing is to let it drop to at least 1200 before putting it in gear to help things warm up.

Like others have stated, It is normal. My car does this too. Just let the RPMs drop slowly as low as they can go prior to driving.

^ me neither but the nissan head tech told me its totally safe due to the way the oil passages are designed to route the oil at cold high rpm start ups...

is it just high or fluctuating as well? depending on mileage you might need to clean out the throttle bodies?

what car starts off w/ only 800 RPM after sitting for so long? Every car starts like that before it drops to normal.
