not for any 2nd gen Gs with HDD navs, they HAVE to be updated through the dealer after you buy the update code from Navteq, no way around it to date, there is no DVD like previous gens that allowed you to find illegally pirated copies online.

For 2010+ models there is an option for the user to update their own maps thanks to new hardware.
