Paddle Shifters Kit Question

Hello,

I just recently purchased a 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan Base Model. Ii doesn't come with electronic steering column mover or paddle shifters. I am purchasing a paddle shifters kit from here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Paddl...ht_2093wt_1026

The only difference of the trim in this kit is that there is a section of the trim thats been cut off so paddle shifters can fit in there. I was asking what if I purchased just the paddle shifters and use a cutting machine of some sort to cut a piece into my current trim? Would there be any kind of major problems? Anything I should be aware about? or would it work just fine?

Please let me know,

Thanks!

Interesting!! You could always try it! But make sure your Base Model is prewired for paddles!

There wont be any problems if you cut it in the proper place but i doubt that it'll look as clean, i say do it right the first time.

IIRC, the base models weren't wired for the paddles, only the Journey

Post 309 of the same thread wasn't

So, I dunno. Maybe one day they used one harness and a different one on the next. I have a sport, so I don't care either way

WOW! everyone is quick to answer. The only thing i hear is that the journey package is per wired for them.

And salvador312, to answer your question, call Rick at the OC Infiniti dealers. The price is really good and easy to install if you have the right tools. I got them on my G 2 weeks ago.

YES my 2007 G35 Base Model is prewired for the paddle shifters. I already had a tech open up the steering trim and we found both wires.

The paddle shifters alone I found for $160.00 plus tax and shipping.

OK another question.. I was reading online that the Paddle Shifters make your car shift faster? I dont think thats true because the way your car shifts is entirely up to your Transmission.. Am i wrong? Also anyone know how to make your g35 shift faster???
