Red face VQ35HR Transmission Compatibility

This may be a stupid question so I apologize in advance. I have done some research comparing part numbers on Courtesy Nissan but I would just like some confirmation.

I bought a VQ35HR with an automatic transmission but I want to swap it with a 6MT transmission. The VQ35HR was available in the 2007-2008 Infiniti G35 and the 2007-2009 350Z. Besides those, are there any other models I would be able to source a 6MT transmission from?

that will be a VERY costly swap and not worth it, you can easily sell your AT and get the MT for about the same price or a couple grand more which would still be cheaper than the swap and perform well with no headaches imo.

Other than taht the G37 tranny should fit fine as well, no changes from what i see and they share the same clutch, pressure plate etc so id ssume it would bolt right up to the 35hr.

yea if you want to do a swap regardless, get a VQ37HR tranny, it will help your gas with the longer gearing.

but yea, it really isnt worth it man, your talking about new cluster, new tranny, new mounts need to be welded, new ecu, new shifter, new center console, extra pedal with connection, dont forget the install ... in the end ... it wont be worth it. id say with the money your going to spend, save it and get a 6mt G37

I'm actually swapping the engine into another car, not doing a 6MT swap on the G35. Thanks for your responses!

That should be some project, what car are you dropping the engine into, it could be a real beast if the car is light and the install is done right.
