Unhappy never letting my parents drive my car again... does this buff out?

Left my car home with the parents for the weekend as I was on a work related trip. Much to my dismay I come back to see my parents swiped a pillar in their underground parking.

I took pics of it along with the car. It is made out of this crumbly material. It didnt dent the car or anything but it's hard to explain. It was almost like it sanded the paint off those parts. There definitely is some paint transferred onto the pillar, as you can see from my color on their. The car has a lot of white though so wtf is that?? that cant possibly be the color under the paint? Running my nail over it, I can feel bumps so does that mean it is all way way to the metal?

I have scratch x and meguiars ultimate compound. Do you think I can make is look significantly less visible if I use some of that stuff with a rotary buffer and yellow foam pad?

(disregard the repeats plz)

help

thanks for your time/input

Although it's hard to see and gauge the depth of those scratches, it looks like you can just buff out the white, but those scratches will likely remain.

there is no way you can buff that out. It's clearly gone down to the primer

Youre going to need to take that to a body shop.

IMHO, it will look a thousand times better after you strip that white paint from the column off, but it will still have scratches than would need a repaint to be 100% . Surely your parents are offering to make this right and get it fixed, aren't they? Maybe you could post some pics after you clean the paint off.

I'm going to pick up an orbital buffer for my meguiar yellow pad. Any tips? Should I try the scratch x with the pad, the ultimate compound or both? I have never tried to buff something out, I'm assuming the abrasive properties of the compounds will blend the paint with the surrounding areas?

It looks to me like the paint was transferred to the wall. If so then you need a body shop to repaint that.
Make sure you carefully wash the area first. See what comes off before you try any buffing products.

It doesn't work that way at all. If an area is missing paint it needs to be sprayed.
Products like ScratchX will remove minor hairline scratches at best. I've used it many times.
Before spending a bunch of money on stuff I would ask a detailer to look at it, in person. They will tell you in 10 seconds if it can be corrected without painting.

Why do you have to do the work? Make your parents do it since it was there fault. It makes scenes to me that way.
