Music Box question
Music Box question
I seem to recall a thread that indicated that the dealer could extract all of my music (about 7 gigs) onto some device or could transfer my music to a new G. Can it be done? And if so, can I do it myself?
I'm considering a 2011 G37Xs and would really hate to load all the music back onto the new car. I am alreading dreading entering all the nav data.
Thanks,
sharkman

If you're considering purchasing/leasing a new vehicle, I'm pretty sure the dealer will be more than happy to help you out (assuming that transfer is possible) :-)
Should just call the dealer to make sure!

I'm going to go ahead and assume it can't be done. Hopefully, for you and many others, I'm wrong.
The 2011's don't have a CF card slot but do have a USB port. This eliminates a compatible, simple, transport mode between the two models.
I have been through all the features of my Audio system and there is nothing pertaining to transferring or importing music from an external source to the music box. It still only rips from CDs like the 07-09 models.
I think if it where possible it would require taking apart the dash and pulling out the head units/hard drives on both cars...something that dealers wouldn't likely want to do on a brand new vehicle and a return/trade that they maybe selling.
Let us know what you find.
