How much for new key fob?

I seem to have lost my key fob and am using the spare. I'd hate to lose that one and be stuck without a key. Anyone know how much to replace it?

Definitely hit ebay and program it yourself unless you're smartkey. For smartkey, take it to a nissan location since the half hour labor rate they'll charge should be less.

Probably a dumb question, but what's the difference in Smartkey and the normal key fob? I thought they were all the same.

smartkey/intelligentkey is the keyless ignition style car. Regular key cars use a standard nissan fob that you can program yourself.

Yeah - mine is a smartkey - does that mean I have to get it from the dealer?

Ebay would be your best bet. I found a deal that came with the leather manuals for my 03 and the seller also threw in his key and key remote/fob cause he totaled his g35. got it for 10 bucks. I programmed my remote that locks/unlocks/panics/trunk release in about 2 minutes too in my 03 coupe

Check with your dealership as mine had a recall and they gave me two new ones and I only had one to trade in. They said it was per Infinity to give two new ones. My car is an 07 g35x

thread on the 07 ikey "recall". I didn't read the whole thread but there's mention of this not actually being a recall.

To answer your question on having to get it from the dealer, no you do not. You will only have to have it programmed to your car at a nissan or infiniti dealership. If you do buy it from the dealer, be prepared to spend 2x what you would find it for on ebay or other sites.

As I said, FIRST check with your Infiniti dealer as mine was just replaced this year at no cost.
