Any US dealer would service my Canadian G for the trims and steering wheel peeling ??

Hi,

Inifiti Canada has me pissed because they would not service my car that is still under warranty for the peeling issue on the steering and door switch bezel ...

They say there is no issue and this is there final decision... I find it frustrating because in the US everybody who as this issue gets their parts changed ...

Any dealer that would send me the parts and I would send the old ones back ....

Thanks !

I would suggest contacting Rick Eudave at OC Infiniti and see if he can help you out. Here is a link to his info(Email).

Where are you?
Guelph Infiniti was about to replace my 07 door switch bezels but I bought a new G37 instead...problem solved
Seriously though, try Guelph if you're close. If they wont do it then it's likely that no one around here will.
FWIW, you can buy the door pieces for ~$60 ($30 each). I assume you just need the fronts.

I'm in Montréal Québec ... I e mailed Rick at OC Infiniti and responded in seconds ... I'm going to know if it will work out tomorrow.

By the way I also need the steering wheel as this is also peeling/chipping ...
Maybe Guelph was doing it on their own because I called and Emailed Infiniti Canada with them ignoring the problem ...

No, Mike (service guy) checked with the regional rep to get approval. Guelph Infiniti is a very good dealership but even they won't give away any time or parts for free. They also replaced the grille on my 07 and the front brakes and rotors (TSB).

Good luck with Rick. I have only read good things about them (Rick & Tony) over the years on this forum.

One thing that I noticed ... If I go on INIFITI parts online and take a 2009 G37 ( upgraded part i supposed ) they are 80$+ a piece ...

If I choose a 2008 they are 30$ ...

I'm just wondering if I would have the same shitty part if I order a 2008 ...

I know that 2008 is when they changed it to the improved material. Only the 07 was 'defective'
Confirm with Rick or Tony that the shape didn't change. I think it's the same. My 2011 looks exactly like my 2007 did but a few mm is unnoticeable to the eye and is all it would take to mess up the fit for you.

I sat in a 2011 and the interior is the same as mine ... I don't think it changed.

Can't wait to get the response from Rick tomorrow !

If you are going to end up doing the R&R yourself, and you're looking at $80/ea., you may as well consider just sanding and repainting it yourself for far less money than you'd spend on replacement pieces. A can of SEM plastic adhesion promoter and a can or their paint and you've got enough to do a top quality job on all you pieces. There are DIY write-ups (including the steering wheel piece). Food for thought anyway.

I will probably try it and paint it for fun if RIck can't get the parts for me ... I will always have the option of buying the 2 in the front if I mess it up !

That's strange, I suppose it must be an early 08 model because they definitely changed the plastic at some point in that year. One way or another, if it was me, I would replace them instead of painting them. They are very inexpensive parts for a car that was (new) over $45,000 in Canada.
If repainted, eventually it will likely wear off too. The new ones are solid plastic colours so there is nothing to wear off.

Just to clarify, 2008 had the defective rubber part as well. Not just 2007. Mine is an 08 bought in later 08 and it had the same crappy rubber crap that the 07s did (and I had them replaced)
