School me on 30K service

Ok, sorry searched but can't find what I'm looking for.

Assume I need to do rear diff and transmission today. I know the belt is listed, but it looks brand new...don't know WHY it is listed as a replacement item. Also, it says "drive belts"....isn't there just one serpentine belt?

Saw two write ups on the rear diff and transmission before, but can't find them to save my life.

Links would be much appreciated. Commentary on my lack of ability to search the interwebs is not appreciated but certainly understandable.

too easy

here's a couple quick finds:

https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-diy...il-change.html

http://www.myg37.com/forums/d-i-y-in...ssion-oil.html

Remember that, like any oil change, the procedure is fairly universal for any year, make, model (it ain't rocket science), so if you find a good youtube on another type of car, it probably applies just the same.

As far as the belt goes, I'd take a real good look at it. I highly doubt it's in need of replacement regardless of what the good book says.

Using the word Assume is never a good idea under any circumstance. The 30K mile service is all fluids and filters replaced along with inspection of hoses and belts. The best part is you don't need to have the stealership do this service. Any qualified mechanic can perform this service for way less then Infiniti will charge you....save your receipts.

Actually Gary, that isn't entirely true. Perhaps you were ASSUMING he's following the Premium maintenance schedule.

Rear diff changed with M1 75W90 gear oil.

Couldn't find any gear oil for the transmission at a local auto shop...have always had to buy Redline from Summit in the past. Anyone have any other sources, preferably local?
