245/50/18 tires on G35Xs Rims?

Not sure if this pushing it, but I got a hold of a almost new set of 245/50/18 Dunlop Wintersport M3's and I want to put them on my G35Xs rims for the winter. Rims are 18" x 7.5" and according to some people 245's on all 4 will work on the X's.

One consideration is that they are nearly an inch larger in diameter. Not necessarily a deal breaker, just sayin.

You need to make sure the difference in overall diameter for the tires from front to back is less than 3% difference or that will throw off the Christmas lights on your dash like VDC, SLIP and ABS. I am running 245/45-18 in the front and 255/45-18 in the rear on stock sport wheel for 2005-2006 sedan which is 7.5" wheel. I don't think you will have a problem mounting the tire but the tread is going to be very tall and if the front does not match or close it will look awkward and throw off your lights

^^ I think he's talking about getting a full set of four, not a staggered set.

In that case i would make sure there is enough space between the upper control arm ball joint and the actual tire tread. The tire is going to be very tall tire as it is for a 245/45-18 moving up to a wider tire 255 and then a larger sidewall of 50 will be cutting it extremely close. I will try to get a picture later to show how much space I have between the front tire and the Nut/bolt of the upper control arm ball joint. Also ensure you will not be rubbing the front tires when spirited driving or around town. Are you lowered or stock height on your G35.

I take back what I said and seems like they are using an updated knuckle assembly in which the bolt to secure the ball joint to knuckle slides in sideways and no longer is in contact with the tire. If you see the picture I attached you can see the bolt sticking out and pointing down. In this new picture is shows no bolt in the way. I would still ensure that you will not be rubbing in any components due to the taller and wider tires.

They will be fine.

The tires are hardly any different in size from the stock 225/50-18 on a G35XS.
The radius of the Dunlop will only be 0.4" greater than the stock tire. The speedometer difference is 2.936% too slow and the diameter difference: 2.86%. All within an acceptable range.
The tire is 0.8"wider but divided symmetrically on each side of the rim, it will not be a problem either.
