Battery died this week...

Nothing like being out of town, 800 miles away, when the wife calls and the car won't start.

07, 21k dead battery. Luckily our local garage was still open and got her all fixed. One less thing to do this weekend!!!

My first one died within a few months of ownership. The 2nd one, a few months longer. I bought an aftermarket one after that and it is still going strong.

It's a Panasonic battery made for the 4Runner. Not sold in the US, probably put a few companies out of business if it was. There's a thread on the 4Runner forum with 8-9 year old batteries still working!

Now that's how they should make things. Not these cheap @$$ crap that you have to replace every few years.

The problem is most consumers will not pay for quality. Everyone shops price, cheap, cheap, cheap...

^ just to let you know when you battery goes so does your car. 1st you'll lose power to your gas pedal everything will light up on your dash then your car will shut down on you. Just a heads up on that. That is what happen to me.

My battery was negligible at a trip to the dealer.

They said the warranty was prorated and I could have a new one for $70.

Never had an issue so I ignored it. With colder weather I figure I should replace it soon.

But $70? You can buy a brand new one off the shelf for that!
