intelli recall question...

I realize today my key started acting out... when I press the unlock button, it won't register the button correctly. My car ran out of warranty, but I was wondering if I can still get the replacement key from the local dealer.

thanks!

Might be a dumb question, but have you replaced the battery and/or tried the second key?

If you need a batter and you don't know which one, CR 2032

I think I go through a battery every couple of years.

My first battery lasted right around 2 years.

I don't think it's the battery. But I'll try to replace those. My gauge doesn't say anything about low batt

What gauge? The smart fobs use a little cr2032 or similar battery. It's not rechargeable, size of a quarter. Using only one fob at a time, I pulled the second fob apart so the battery doesn't sustain parasitic discharge.

Jsolo, I think he's talking about the low battery warning that will show up on the display between the speedo and tach if the remote's battery is dying.

Agreed. I didn't realize the display will let you know the fob battery is low. He claims his display doesn't indicate this.

So I changed the batt and it seems like the problem is solved. Haha I should've done this earlier. Btw staples has two pack of these batteries for $3
