I'm changing my front rotors soon and was wondering if I should stick with OEM or aftermarket? I just do normal day to day driving so I don't need slotted ones. For brakes I'm thinking about getting Akebono. Is the part number for an 07 sport AKACT888?

I've put Akebono Pro-act on my 04 Coupe, 00 Max, and 05 Focus and have been very pleased with them!!
I do not track my 04 Coupe, but do like to accelerate unnecessarily and lean into the twisties!!
(If you do not track your car do not get track pads....they are made for the track and have different operating temps, properties and purposes.)

My local CARQUEST matched the sale price of the Akebono's on Tirerack.
Also where I got my rotors.
IMHO the Nissan OEM pads are not worth looking at...Akebono is much better.

if you are talking about pads, the akebono ceramic don't have the stopping power the hawk PC ones do, at least according to the ratings at tire rack. I'm guessing akebono is the original as far as ceramic brakes go, and others like the hawk pads have improved on the formula to give the minimal dust and better stopping power.

the only rotors recommended consistently here are ones for our gen cars (stock calipers) are from ocautosports and r1 concepts* (premium rotors).

personally I've had the ocautosports xdrilled+slotted ones on the front for a while, and no rust or warpage yet. I got some cheapo rears from a member here, I think they were from brake performance.com (non premium ones) and they are rusting already, actually they were starting to before I even put them on lol.

If you ever upgrade to akebono calipers from the g37/370Z, racingbrake has some bad a$$ 2 piece rotors for them, they'll set you back over 400 EACH tho

btw OP search is your friend. You will find this thread helpful:

As I read it, he's asking about new front rotors and pads for his '07 Sport brakes. The mention of 'Akebono' is just for the Akebono brand of pads (they DO make more than just calipers ) that would fit his brakes .

To the OP: for moderate driving, you could look into Centric or PowerSlot as an alternate source for some blanks and any number of pad choices from Akebono, Hawk, EBC, etc.etc, etc.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll look into those options. How are Brembo rotors? I see them on ebay for only $104 shipped:

I don't personally know how the Brembo pads are on the '07 Sport models, but I'd be very careful with that particular ebay auction. I noticed that the seller's lookup reference table claims they are compatible with the base model and the sport model which are two totally different parts. Also, as a double check, I tried it with an '08 G37 base model selection (which uses the same brakes as the Sport sedan), but it said they weren't compatible. Buyer beware!
