Brake back plate issues

Has anyone had any issues with the back plates? I had the TSB done awhile ago and it seems like a lot of debris seems to get caught back there. Sometimes when I drive, little rocks would get stuck in the plates and rub against the rotor.

I don't even have backing plates up front. For the rear I had to shave off a big chunk of it. I had to remove the front and shave the rear to retrofit the Akebono's. Been fine driving w/o them.

I also have that issue with my Akebono's occasionally. It really depends on the temp and weather conditions. It definitely has nothing to do with the backing plate IMO. If the squealing occured when the rotors were hot, then maybe it can be a factor. But it only happens when my break are cold at start up and I reverse out. Kinda embarrassing sometimes but I heard most BBK's have some sort of squealing issues.
