Goodbye for now- Sold the G

Ive been a Nissan Infiniti Fan for a long long time- But for the first time my wife and I are getting out of the club.

Most recent lineup includes:
04 Maxima 6sp Manual - Lots of Fun
05 G35 Coupe - Wifes first coupe and lots of fun
08 G35 Sedan - Wifes car and best handling sedan on the road (Next to a M3)

Sadly our infiniti sales experience has gotten worse and worse in OKC.
Bob Moore Infiniti is not interested in being competitive.

I still think the G is one of the best looking cars on the road but the Wife want something different, So we went with:

2012 Acura TL Technology.
It is unfair to compare the two cars on the same level as the Acura has no ***** after driving the G. But it feel a little more plush. The Acura is no slouch but Im going to miss the pep of the G.

I got $20k (Pay off)for the G, 2008 44k miles nav and premium package

Anyways Im sure I will be back in 3-4 years

BTW my Corvette will let me feed my need while Im away.

If I didn't need a truck I would have a G as my DD. It is one of my favorite cars.

We considered a lot of premium brands Like the following:
BMW 3 series
Benz C Class
Audi A4
Caddy CTS sedan and coupe
Infiniti (of course)
Volvo S60
Acura TL
Taurus SHO
Lexus IS 250

Criteria:
Had to be loaded like the G, Similar size and similar monthly payment (Lease)

from the list on paper only the G and TL were the best bang for the buck.
lease residuals on many of the above cars were in the crapper. Benz / Acura / Infiniti were the top 3

Benz had a 200hp Turbo 4- Which was scary to drive on the highway (No Power)

Infiniti had nothing new to offer except for a few minor exterior changes and the new bad *** 3.7L. But the dealer made it that much easier to walk away

Acura had a great sales team and a lot of features in the car.

The new Acura TL isn't bad. I just think it is a tad too big. They should've kept it at the same older model size or same as the G sedan.

Well sad to see you go. But I still think your 08 g35 sedan looked better than that 12 TL. But the interior must be fancy. BTW which side is the front end and which side is the back end of the TL?? Looks like two front ends put together.

I understand exactly how you feel. Infiniti service and warranty program sucks. Infiniti dealers look for any reason not to cover warranty or report production issues (IE oil consumption). I went to Mercedes when it came to something new. Stepped up to a '09 Mercedes E350 and will buy another new one real soon.

My G35 is primarily a show car now.

Good luck with the Acura
