Hey Guys,
I have and IP sedan. I currently have the rear lip spoiler in moonlight white and will be ordering the sport front lip as well. When i take it to the paint shop should they sand it down or can they paint right over?
I remember when i called a shop they recommended i order the parts in Moonlight white because they would be easier to paint over instead of black for example.
Just wondering if the OEM color will affect the new paint.
any thoughts?

Any shop worth a damn is going to do prep work before paint. If they don't, take your money elsewhere

^ whs, if they paint it over the old paint/CC then it is bound to chip off sooner or later.

Theres really no situation where painting over paint is a good idea. If the original paint is still good, then fresh paint wont stick to it very well and give a bad finish. If the original paint is crap, then fresh paint will probably stick easier but just give you a slightly shinier version of the existing crap paint finish.
