SES light, cat code...

07x with about 42k miles on it. Threw a ses code two days ago, got it scanned at advanced auto and it was some type of catalytic converter code. Checked over my aftermarket warranty and of course the cat isn't covered. Anyone been able to get infiniti to cover their cat when they aren't the original owner? If not what did you end up getting?

Is it code P0420 and P0430? thats what I get, but then I have no cats lol, just test pipes. That could also be a bad o2 sensor thats connected to the cat too.

I read somewhere the cats have a warranty of 70k or something like that. Doesn't matter if you are the original owner.

No need to worry about the aftermarket warranty. The manufacturer's Federal Emissions Warranty coverage includes the cats and is good for 8yr/80K miles, so unless you've voided it somehow, you're covered.

+1 to what VQ said... take your car in and let them know that you are aware of the warranty on the cats and they should take care of you

Sounds like its time to get some HFC, but it would be really helpful to post up the code you're getting so we can see what it is.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm going to contact my local infiniti dealer and take it in to get looked at. I'll post up the outcome.
