2008 g35x....where do i start?

Okay well I know there are tons of these threads about new g35 drivers but I am just looking for some specific and general advice about my situation. Few months ago I bought a beautiful white g35x with 48,000 miles on it for about 24k. So far I haven't done anything to the car other than tints all the way around. First things first I am pretty damn unknowledgeable on this stuff so try to bear with me. I want to make sure this puppy is driving up to its full potential so I was wondering what I can do to make sure everything is running okay, do i need an oil change? a tune up? also this light "vdc off" comes on anytime the car thinks I'm spinning or slipping and doesn't turn off until i put it in park. Before I do any mods I am looking to do tires and rims, any suggestions on sizes? brands? good sites? I am willing to put some money into this car so my budget isn't much of an issue. As for doing something under the hood, what would you suggest first? cold air intake? my goal is too add performance obviously without tampering with the engine or anything. Once again sorry if I sound like I'm clueless, I really don't know much about mods and whatnot. Thanks for the help!

oh and I can't get this pic to upload lol

Holy crap thats a lot of info your looking for but.... Congrats on the purchase and welcome.

I always run through the gears hard when I buy a car and change the oil, check fluids, batt, lights, etc. like a little tuneup. VDC light should not be popping up unless you hit the VDC OFF button. SLIP will pop up when you lose traction. Turn VDC off when you want to drive crazy. But search that too because that can get you in trouble.... SEARCH. OZ 18" rims are my favorite but SEARCH wheels and you will find plenty. Tirerack.com is good also. I would recommend Stillen intake or K&N drop ins. Exhaust you don't want to hear my opinions. Tuning is your call. I enjoyed my OSIRIS UPREV tune. Your not gonna get more that 10 percent gains max without spending $$$$$$ (turbos). If you are in an abundance of cash right now you can shoot me a set of Hotchkis sways for my car.

i'd second the tire rack.com, i went with cosworth drop in dry panel filters. oil change is a reg maint thing, battery fluid level. I have been unimpressed with stock brake pads but that may depend on how fast you drive.

I'll just offer that, unless you are indeed slipping, the VDC and SLIP lights can be caused by running with improperly sized tires (ie. diameter difference between front and rear); besides that, low brake fluid level can also cause it.

With such basic questions, you can try your luck asking in a thread such as this, but you may find using the search function nets more comprehensive info than you'll receive here.

WELCOME
