1.I looked online and the throwout bearing and cylinder seem to be one piece. Concentric slave cylinder design. it has two bolts and a sensor wire going to it. since the throwout bearing is on it...is it mounted inside the tranny??? Also, is there a recall on these??
2.The price online is around 160-180 for one. However, if its the same as the 370z slave cylinder, I can get a nismo for 90 dollars. is it the same???

1. yes tranny does need to come out to replace the slave, and yes there is a voluntary recall on this search for it and you'll find it or ill try to find it in a bit
2. not sure but i would assume so, best thing is to confirm with Z Speed if they are the same and then you can get the cheaper one.

Here's the recall notice for 2007s no recall for 2008 since the part was corrected from what iv been told.
If you got the car used then you need to check with your dealer or corporate if the service was already done or not.
Just to alert you, in one instance that i can recall one person(bought 07 used) was told by dealer orally that recall had already been performed before and he would have to pay out of pocket since its a wear item due to bad driving habits, but luckily he checked in with corporate too and they told him that the service had not in fact been performed on his car and was covered under warranty for free

^ though that is true, u have to keep in mind that while the Zspeed csc is super strong (and basically intended to be used with AM clutches) it is 3 times more expensive, requires grinding on the trans cover to mount the csc so its a bit more labor intense(+more $$) and not every shop will do that and lastly its all metal construction so you can not be careless and are required to flush the system at least 1-2 times every year as stated by them to avoid seal damage.
IMO its not required for the average G driver on a stock clutch with regular bolt-ons, the revised stock csc is plenty for that imo but if you drive your car hard all the time or plan an AM clutch when youre changing the csc and willing to front the added cost then yes it is the better option for sure
