Talking DIY for DRL's on our V36 sedans

Hey guys so This will be my first thread and sorry if something are gona be out of place.

I finished installing my DRL computer replay today and soem of ppl asked to have a DIY posted so

1. you will need to visit Ebay and get your hands on this simple set up -
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Daytime-...ht_3879wt_1139

First thing first is to figure out How and where you want the wires to go.
There are a few options for this, I went with the easiest one-
- Let them run along the Passenger side fender and under the Radiator cover like so in the pics below

<a href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/690/imag1001p.jpg/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/8927/imag1001p.th.jpg" border="0"/></a>

Installation is really straight forward an easy.
you got two wires with a Fuse to the battery-

<a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/163/imag1020j.jpg/'><img src='http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/5015/imag1020j.jpg' border='0'/></a>

Than 2 sets of + and - for each headlight-
<a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/88/imag1018z.jpg/'><img src='http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/412/imag1018z.jpg' border='0'/></a>

Our wiring on the headlights is really short so to make this as easy as possible I removed one wheel at a time and the fender liner to get plenty of access( You could also go thru the whole process of taking the bumper and headlights off bt Thats TOO much work for DRL setup, IMO)

With the wheel out of the way unplug the fog light and headlight, this will let you pull out the wires to a workable lenth

<a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/19/imag1024.jpg/'><img src='http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/1640/imag1024.jpg' border='0'/></a>

strip out a little bit of the wires on the fog light socket to ensure a good connection.

Next Connect + to + and - to - , on our headlights the
Yellow wire is (+ Positive+) and the White/with a blue stripe is -Negative-
And on the DRL relay Red is Positive + and Black is Negative-

<a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/441/imag1026u.jpg/'><img src='http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/8185/imag1026u.jpg' border='0'/></a>

Now time to do a good job at covering all this up with Electric tape

<a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/19/imag1028z.jpg/'><img src='http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/5097/imag1028z.jpg' border='0'/></a>

Be sure to plug in all the right sockets and Re-install the Feder liner/Wheel and move onto the passenger side***** after taking the wheel/liner off be sure to remove the Washer Reservoir tank filler tube off to get access to wires
<a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/193/imag1031q.jpg/'><img src='http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/8916/imag1031q.jpg' border='0'/></a>

and than pull upwards to remove

<a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/444/imag1030.jpg/'><img src='http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/5813/imag1030.jpg' border='0'/></a>

Also a helpful hint if you didnt know already- It is a pain in the *** to try and wrap electrical tape between those two short wires and so heres a trick not to have the whole roll and trying to sqeeze thru between the two wires

First start of by rolling it out and into a new roll as shown in the picture-
<a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/39/imag1032ro.jpg/'><img src='http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/7808/imag1032ro.jpg' border='0'/></a>

Keep rolling until you have something like this-
<a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/84/imag1033.jpg/'><img src='http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/4522/imag1033.jpg' border='0'/></a>

cutt away and use as intended! Cheers

I didnt take any pictures but here is a link to my first start up with the DRL relay installed-
