My friend has the 2006 Audi S4 V8 and it's a similar car in terms of power/sedan. Since, it is a audi the price is def. in a another bracket. As a result, the car value does not deplete as fast.. I drove it a few times, and it has a similar baby growl to the R8. I think g35xs still has a better 0-60 time than the S4? But S4 is better on the power end of the spectrum since it is a V8. I am young, so I do like the S4 and a tad bit more but my girl friend my G35xS better than a 2008 335xi coupe or Audi S4.She likes the luxury interior and the look of the car. Really depends on your perspective, IMO.

I was looking to get a CPO 335, S4 or S5. But probably going to wait until December and might pick up the 2012 335i as a second family car or a new Audi S4? Only time will tell....

Overall, I think for the price one pays for a G. You get better reliability and similar performance. It is a win-win situation. But if you have another 10-20k to spare, hell S4 is def better!

I'd put my G up against any stock V8 S4. Still unimpressed with the performance and I was really close to just picking up an 06 instead of my 08 G. Gas mileage was awful though and the performance just wasnt there. Liked the two tone seats and V8 growl though. That car was a head turner..

yea, i totally agree. When you drive the car, V8 rumble just put shivers through your veins and blood rushes to your eyes.

We see it more as a head turner because as car fanatics, S4 with quad exhaust and sound will make people turn. IMO

I owned a 2004 S4 before my 07 G35x. The S4 was a much faster car and superior handler in the snow. I think it has 340hp. The recaro seats was second to none. The insurance and other operating expenses were very expensive. Another aspect that I enjoyed about it was that it was a sleeper car...minus aluminum mirror covers, 18" Avus rims, and minor body enhancements, it looked identical to an A4.

I test drove a b8 s4 right before buying my g. I fell in love with the 8-speed DCT. Shifts were immediate, and the cars gear selection felt like it read my mind. Plus, on highway cruise at 80mph, it felt like 35mph. Although the DCT was not as good as the Evo x's, it's pretty darn close. I also loved the SC whine. In the end I couldn't justify a used S4 that was $5-10k more than a brand new G. Although now, I keep flirting with the idea of a b7 rs4.

I'm not even that old, and have no clue why anyone (over the age of 18/19 when you are stupid and just don't realize what you are doing) would WANT to go 130 mph in ANY car on the street. It's just plain not safe for you or anyone on the road. I've owned my G for over a year now, and I don't even think I've reached 90 mph with it. Although I didn't buy it to race it either....

Well that is respectable, however everybody has their own interests. The reason I would want to deactivate the 130mph limiter is so that one day I could reach 155mph in my G [125mph is my fastest so far :-\ I did not buy the car to race either, but I love the excitement. As far as safety, there is as much a chance of the Lord taking me in a 150mph crash as there is in a 50mph crash, as well as any other people affected by such an occurance. With that being said, I can attest to the fact that it is not the smartest decision..but it would be a fun drive!
So is there any way to deactivate the speed limiter?
