Can't program Homelink
Can't program Homelink
Just got two new garage door openers and can't program them with my Homelink. Worked fine before.
Followed the instructions....cleared codes....put garage door opener into learn mode...firmly hit the Homelink button...no dice.
Even tried the "step by step" directions as if I was going to try it with the transmitter first. One thing to note is that the Homelink never gave me the indication that it detected a rolling code.
Ideas?

That's pretty strange. It took me a couple times to get it right, but when I followed the directions in the manual, it seemed to work after the 2nd or 3rd try (which I believe the manual even said that it may take a few times to get it right).
Sorry, I don't have any ideas, just wanted to say that it took me a couple times to get it right. Maybe that's the issue with you, but I doubt it because of your comment about it not picking up the rolling code.
Good luck.

Reading up on it a little bit, it sounds like the newer garage door openers aren't compatible with Homelink out of the box. Appears that you've got to buy some type of adapter. Excellent.
This is true. I just had an new Chaimberlain door opener installed and I tried to connect it too my G with no luck. Upon further research cars older then 2011 will not work with new openers, unless you buy a repeater. Has something to do with the new code rolling system they have. I think it BS personally cuz they want $50 for the repeater and it wasn't mentioned on the box or even when I purchased it. So for now I just have the opener in the car.
one thing I don't like about our homelink is you can break into the car and the homelink opener will work, that seems nuts to me, I think it should only work if the ignition is on and key is present!
^ or, if it really concerns you, flip the lock switch to your garage door at night (the one on the garage wall) so no exterior opener will operate it. Mine has one so I am just assuming most of them do.

I read a review on the Craftsman website that someone got a Homelink receiver just for the price of shipping. Hope I'm that lucky when I call tomorrow.
"Thanks for building a product that doesn't work with today's technology. Now send me a GD free unit before I go Honey Badger on your ***."
I just explained that it didn't work with my new GDO and they offered to send me this unit. Its a little jankety looking and has to be plugged in....sucks cause there are only so many outlets in the garage.

It appears that their website is down. Its in your manual, but if you can't find it let me know and I'll try to dig it up.
So i called homelink and they told me i dont qualify for a free repeater. They had told me that its for 09 3rd quarter infiniti's. i mentioned that u had gotten yours but she told me that she wasn't sure how u got yours. I decided not to pay the $50. Not sure how you got lucky, but good job. I even tried using my truck which is an 04 Avalanche and still no good. Looks like i will stick with using just the remote.
