Do I need to reprogram TPMS every time swap wheels?

Hi,

I have a set of winter tires on my car now, it's spring so time to get a new set of summer tires for my 2007 g35 sedan. I was wondering, if I get a new set of rims with a new tpms, so that I have 2 sets of wheels to swap on my own, do I need to get it reprogrammed everytime i want to swap them myself??

I've heard, I need to get it reprogrammed everytime. If this is the case, why do I want to have two sets of wheels to do myself?

I know ppl have gone without tpms on their winter tires. Also, this sort of makes diy a thing of the past now, unless you have the tools to reprogram it everytime.

thanks,
Will

You can reset them yourself on g37's, not sure if it's the same for the 07-08 g35's.

The TPMS will auto reset on the 07s when you put on new tires. Mine did at least.

You didn't change sensors, did you? The OP is talking about switching wheels.

our cars can only have one set of programmed TPMS. i heard other cars can have several sets programmed. Meaning, for our cars, you can have two sets of wheels (summer/winter) and have one of the two sets of wheels with TPMS. Our cars will automatically read the programmed TPMS. from here you can either have a second set of TPMS and reprogram each time you switch wheels or live with the light on. I live with the light on.
