My bad, the option you are looking for is the "Phonebook (downloaded)" selection. And it is in the "Phone" options.

 

I guess the navigation unit is required... mine only says phonebook...not phonebook downloaded

 

I am going to double check the path I took to get to the phone settings. I got that description off a google search so I can't be 100% sure it is correct. I just sort of stumbled across it and managed to make it work but failed at accurately retracing my steps for a good explanation lol

 

Having the navi gives you a bunch of features not available to those with only the premium package (for 07-08 models)

 

I don't see why the bluetooth settings would be any different though. I know the physical layout is different but I would think that the bluetooth module and functions are similar. I could be wrong.

 

I guess the phone book has to be stored into the hardrive?

 

Ok so I went out and I redid the download from phone to car so that I could get some clear steps down. So if this doesn't work or the options aren't available for you in the menu system then it is probably because of navi/non-navi differences.

Just follow step by step. If you can't then they definitely have different BT options

Step1: Select "Setting" which is a physical button on the head unit
Step2: Select "phone"
Step3: Select "Downloaded Phonebook"
Step4: Select "Download all" and agree by selecting "yes". Now your car is looking for a BT device to initiate the download.
Step5:Start the Bluetooth File transfer app
5a: Once app is launched, hit the menu button on your android phone and select "More"
5b: Select "Send contacts"
5c: Select the star icon at the top right and then choose "Select all"
5d: For the sending options at the bottom, choose "send as multiple"
Hopefully the download will complete if you have gotten this far, but again if not, give it a few more tries.

If the download did complete, then your contacts will be stored in the "Call (downloaded)" section after hitting the phone icon on your steering wheel.

As yarrh has already mentioned, the Nav package adds more phone options, including 'downloading' a phonebook, which the premium package does not have.
I had an 07X premium NON Nav and did not have the feature to download a phone book which I do have now that I have factory Nav.

 

I saw that but I hoped it was just the nav options that were left out. But that is kinda lame.. Didn't think it would limit BT options. Well at least there is a step by step if anyone with a navi-premium package wants to do it and is having trouble.

Infiniti introduced A2DP BT streaming, for the G sedan, in the 2010 model.

 

Stupid Infiniti.... how much of a trouble is it to come up with updates for older cars... jeez.

 

They probably could, but then there would be no incentive to buy newer models

 

I was able to download my phonebook when I had an old Windows phone.. but not possible with my current iPhone.. Boo...

 

Just an FYI, you don't necessarily need a BT transfer app to transfer your Android phonebook to your car. If you open up your Contacts (or People in Ice Cream Sandwich) in your phone, and go to Settings, then go to Import/export, then select Export to storage. The phone will save your contacts list in a .vcf file in your SD card, which you can then natively share via BT from your phone to your car.

At least that's how I copied my entire phonebook from my Android phone to my car.
