I ask because the Bluetooth on 2011 g37s have wider options for phone pairing, as well as advanced options like phonebook download etc..
Has anyone tried updating the firmware, if it exists, or maybe installing a Bluetooth from a newer g sedan?

If the Bluetooth is a separate unit that's removable, I would love to yank the current one out and add this... but I looked everywhere, there's no mention of an update CD or a way to physically replace the Bluetooth that I see..
I would say theoretically it is possible because of the similarities in the setup. But I think you would need to do a full swap, so the bluetooth, aux ports, iPod connection, and the HDD setup would need to be done up with the newer components. Either way all I see is $$$ thinking about what it would cost if even possible. But I am no expert. Just a computer geek. =P
Care to tell us how you made that possible bro? I just switched from Android to Windows Phone today so it'll take some research for me on that end.

It was months ago but I remember reading thru the manual and realizing I needed a was to transfer my contacts via bluetooth so I searched the Android market for an app but forget the name I ended up using. It was something like Bluetooth file transfer or something similar.
I launched the app and initiated a phonebook download in the car and then pushed via the bluetooth data transfer app and it accepted it it after a couple of tries.
Let me sleep on it and if I have time tomorrow i will see if I can dig up the app name, i've since removed it from my phone.
Also, I think there were a couple of thereads here that may have helped me as well

This is what I did to get it to work. And yes I had the same error before fiddling with it. You have to go into the "settings" for your navi unit and then get into the phone settings and get to the part where you have the option of downloading the phonebook. Now first start the process on your Android phone with the Bluetooth File Transfer app that lets your transfer your contacts. Once you select your car from the bluetooth devices and you start the transfer, immediately start the process for downloading the phonebook from your car. If you do this at the correct time your car will start downloading the phonebook. It worked for me. If you want more specific instructions it'll have to wait till tonight when I get get back in my car for the procedure.
I am pretty sure bluetooth comes with the car even if it doesn't have navigation so the steps should be the same. I probably should have just referred to it as the head unit instead of the navi but the phone options should be the same as well as the process I mentioned. Albeit a really rough explanation of the process lol
