'07 vs '11 Sport Package

I'm close to pulling the trigger on an '07 G35 sedan with Sport Pkg —test drove it yesterday.

I just noticed an '11 G37 sedan with Sport Pkg become avail. I'm familiar with the engine/trans difference between the two so I don't want to drive 25 miles to check out this '11 if the Sport Pkg is not any different.

'07 has 28M, '11 has 18M.

Anyone driven both or have enough knowledge to know of any differences in feel, ride stiffness, handling, options, etc.?

Thanks.

No change in suspension, only cosmetics, wheels (uglier imo), engine and trans will be different, as will be the interior.

The '11 will be heavier also, mainly due to the brakes

The '09 and up G37 sport models come with the 4/2 Akebono brakes with the 14" rotors, while the 07-08 G35 sport models have the 2/1 steel brakes with the 13" rotors. Big difference in weight.

I take it that translates to increased stopping power, less fade, etc.

Does it affect ride feel because of added weight at wheels?

Yes

not really cause of the added 30hp, if you look at the numerous 1/4 miles times they are the same or a better by .1-.2secs for the g37

Also the seats functions/shape is the same
answered above...

If it's the AT equipped Gs the 11 is about 140lbs heavier due to the 7AT weight compared to the 5AT, the slightly bigger brakes will add some weight but the big difference is the AT.
OP, you never mentioned the pricing, but you'll have almost a full warranty w/ the 11 and none w/ your 07.

Agreed 100%, Infiniti OEM sedan wheels (journey & sport) are currently the ugliest they've ever been, they must get kickbacks from the aftermarket wheel industry
At least the sedan LE & IPL wheels are nice and all the coupe wheels too

I think the warranty alone is worth getting the 2011. Plus you get the akebono brakes.

Get the 2011...
Pros
1.Newer engine design...200cc larger, different head design, and 30 more hp
2.If it's unfortunately looking in purchasing a automatic, the 2011 has a 7 speed (as opposed to the 5 speed Automatic, which comes in the 2007...(Again that's only if you were unfortunately purchasing the car with a Automatic Transmission. I would HIGHLY advise against that)
3. Updated Interior the center counsel looks more modern.
4. Tech upgrades include a flash music drive, I pod integration, higher quality display screen, and parking sensors. (Which all come standard on a 6MT)
5 Upgraded more aggressive looking front end
6. Larger and better looking Akebono 4piston front and 2 piston rear brake's
7. It's faster
8. It has a longer warranty
9. It's available with a 6 speed manual.

Cons
1. Probably cost more
2. some are not a fan of the new front styling

^ in the sense that it has more warranty left over compared to the 07 which would be out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty

FYI

07 - $21K, Nav, Prem, Tech, Sport
11 - $30K Nav, Prem, Sport

I'm not too worried about warranty (as nice a net it is) because the G has been reliable in my experience and at 21K, it's a nice deal.
