Wanted to check if there are any issues before car goes off warranty (4 years/60k miles) next month. Dealer offered to perform a used car check for around $140. Would you guys recommend this?

Yes I would. Problems are expensive on our cars. 140 into prevention is well worth it. I took mine in to have the steering wheel replace under warranty and they found an AXLE LEAK and some other minor things.

 

Not until I see a list of exactly what is being checked and how long it takes. $140 isn't a lot of money but it is too much if they only spend 60minutes checking things.
I would also get my own mechanic to check the car out.

 

You can find any mechanic to look at the car for half that price..my guy does it for $60 bucks

 

Have a mechanic check it out for much less than the dealership would charge. Also check out the TSB's for common problems like brake judder, chipping door pulls/steering wheel, loose door molding, etc...

 

Will your mechanics do the work under warranty too?
