any good tuner will not tune for peak hp. they will tune for best gain across the entire power band, and focus on getting the powerband smooth. they will also play with when the torque converter locks up. on my tune he upped it by 20%. i can now feel when it locks up if im in sport mode and i get on it.

in order to make power the shop actually took timing out in the midrange, and modified some other settings on the top end.

also i found out our cars come with O2 Wideband from the factory! there was no need for a sniffer in the tailpipe during testing at all.

im not expecting miracles but yes, Im expecting a smoother power band and increase throughout the entire band. my main concern is making sure AFR is under control.

just got back from the tune. dynojet dyno

before 243hp to wheels and 216lbs tq

after 257hp to wheels and 224 lbs tq

with the estimated 25% drivetrain loss with AWD and AT, that puts me around 347bhp to the engine.

air fuel is right on target. we tried leaning it out and it actually lost quite a bit of power.

dont have the baseline graph (a/f was all over the place) but have the final pull.

for those interested, most articles i have read say...
FWD: 10-15% loss;
RWD: 10-18% loss;
AWD: 17-25% loss.
additional 2-5% loss for automatic transmissions

My first baseline dyno (found in another post) on stock motor were 220hp and 197lbs/tq

after hypertech and tanabe axle back 227hp and 202lbs/tq to the wheels

so clearly, R2C intake and stillen cat back exhaust helped and tune helped.

with the estimated 35% drivetrain loss with AWD and AT, that puts me around 400hp to the engine.

woah woah woah.... 400hp at the flywheel? you're telling me you gained 94hp from an intake exhaust and tune? thats highly unlikely.

probably more like 347bhp actually with a 25% loss. i overestimated the drivetrain loss
